
16th Century Grade 1 Listed Olde Coaching Inn, well placed in the historic market town of Sudbury.

Built in 1540 by a wealthy merchant, used as his home, this building then became a brewing house for Mauldons, now Sudburys only existing Brewery. This Hotel features original Oak beams throughout the building and has two rooms with vaulted ceilings.

Special rate when you book for 2 nights between Monday and Friday, for the months of August and September. Menu to feature the best of local summer produce. In October and November we will be offering a special game menu, featuring local game birds pheasant, pigeon and other seasonal foods such as hare paté and venison.
From Monday to Thursday the bistro is open from 18:30 to 20:30, on Friday and Saturday it is open from 18:00 to 21:00. The menu consists of popular dishes that alternate through the week guaranteeing a varied choice during your stay.
Coming from london or Chelmsford into Sudbury on the A131 you will drive over a small hump back bridge (ballingdon bridge). We are on the right hand side at the junction of Cross street and Church Street. From any other direction leave sudbury heading towards London/Chelmsford/Braintree and we will be on the left hand side of Cross street just before the Bridge.
